[BUG] car infotainment always says "Track 1"

I have experienced an issue in my car when playing music over bluetooth where every track on the album I'm playing shows as being Track 1 on my car infotainment system, despite the music having correct metadata. So for example, track 5 will say track 5 on my phone, but says track 1 on my car infotainment system. The car infotainment system consistently correctly reflected track numbers with my old music app.

Phocid app version: v20250829
Phone info: Google Pixel 9a running Android 16
Car info: 2017 Toyota RAV4 Limited with the latest Entune software update installed

Then I don't know what's causing the problem. AFAIK there should be only one location of metadata read by Android Auto, which now includes track numbers in this build. The only Android Auto "car" I have access to, Google's emulator, doesn't display track numbers, so I basically have no means of debugging.

Can you provide some examples of open source players that display track numbers correctly on your car? The more examples the better, since many players don't use the same media API as Phocid, thus providing no reference value.

Also, can you try reinstalling Phocid after uninstalling to ensure it's not a Android Auto cache problem?

I'm so sorry; I should have been more clear, this car does NOT have Android Auto... it runs Toyota's Entune software that was on 2013-2018(?) models prior to the implementation of Android Auto, and the phone connects via bluetooth.

The app that had the correct behavior is closed source, but what I can do is try other open source apps, see if any have the correct behavior, and report back. Thank you for looking into this!
